External audit

Materiality: "The information contained in the report must cover those aspects and indicators that reflect the significant impacts of the organisation or those that could have a substantial influence on stakeholders' assessments and decisions."

Before drawing up the report, Eroski carried out a materiality study based on AccountAbility's AA 1000 standard to identify the material corporate responsibility aspects upon which to report. The study involved identifying and classifying the material aspects, weighing up their maturity in the sector and the risk they represent to the company in terms of industry leaders, the media and leaders of opinion.

Stakeholder participation: "The reporting organisation must identify its stakeholders and describe in the report how its has provided a response to their reasonable expectations and interests."

EROSKI has identified its stakeholders and their expectations and defined programmes to establish stable relations with them. These relations and activities are reflected in the Report's content. One specific procedure for the inclusion of stakeholders in the process of drawing up this Report has been the use of an Expert Committee that can represent the expectations of a representative sample of our stakeholders. This Expert Committee has, through open dialogue with the company, provided an independent assessment on the process of drawing up the Report. In particular, it assesses how specific matters it has raised before the company have been taken into account.
